How much does a facelift cost in Seoul at Rewind?

The short answer

Rewind Plastic Surgery in Apgujeong lists its full facelift as one fixed fee on the clinic's surgical fee sheet, and that figure appears in the pricing section further down this page. Two other listings sit beside it: the full lift combined with a neck lift, and the smaller mini operation. Each listed figure already carries the anaesthetic fee, and VAT is added on top. Your quote is whichever listing the examination matches, written down before any date is set.

Fees come from Rewind's own fee sheet. The operation described on this page follows the clinic's Korean surgical page for full facial lifting. Neither the anaesthetic method nor the operating time is published by the clinic, so this page prices neither separately.

A facelift price only means something once you know what was cut and what was moved to earn it. At Rewind the full lift runs from the temple hairline, around the ear and into the hairline behind it; the surgeon raises the skin, opens the SMAS fascial layer, releases the retaining ligaments beneath it, then draws the fascia taut, fixes it and trims the surplus skin. The fee pays for that whole sequence, once, performed by one surgeon.

People pricing a facelift from abroad usually compare a single number against a single number. That comparison works only when both numbers buy the same operation. The sections below set out what this one buys, where the figure changes, and which costs of a stay in Seoul it leaves out.

What the facelift fee at Rewind pays for, part by part

The full-lift listing is a single figure, but four pieces of work sit inside it. Knowing them makes it easier to tell whether a quote from home describes the same operation or a smaller one under the same name.

The full incision route
Temple hairline, around the ear, into the hairline behind it. A shorter route belongs to the mini listing, so the full figure assumes the complete line.

Work on the SMAS
The fascial layer is opened, the retaining ligaments beneath it are released and the layer is raised as its own flap, drawn taut and fixed. This is the structural part of the operation.

Skin excision and closure
Only after the fascia is secured is the surplus skin removed and the wound closed, so the skin is trimmed to fit instead of being stretched to carry the lift.

The anaesthetic fee
Counted inside the listed figure. It never arrives as a separate charge on the day, and how the anaesthesia is given is agreed with you at consultation.

VAT is the one addition shown apart from the listed figure. Flights, a hotel for the recovery period, and scar-care products bought later are outside the fee altogether.

The quotation follows the examination in order. Each finding either confirms the full-lift figure, swaps it for a different listing, or adds the neck.

01Spread

Is the descent across the whole face?

Folds beside the nose, cheeks, jaw line and neck descending together is the pattern the full lift was designed for. Where all four have moved, the full listing is the starting point.

02Segment

Or is it one stretch only?

When the middle and lower face have dropped and the rest holds, the plan may move to the mini operation, which opens only the part of the line that is needed and carries its own lower figure.

03Neck

Does the descent carry on below the jaw line?

Loose skin and a slack platysma below the jaw are a separate problem. Where they are present, the combined facelift-and-neck listing replaces the full-lift figure instead of two fees being stacked.

04Paper

The written facelift plan you leave with

A written plan naming the listing, a line stating that the anaesthetic fee sits inside it, and VAT shown as its own addition. Anything you decline comes off the plan before a date is offered.

Why the facelift fee at Rewind is tied to scope

One headline number for every face would be easy to print. It would also leave some patients paying for a full incision they did not need, and others buying a mini operation for a face that had descended all the way to the neck. Tying the fee to the listing keeps the price attached to the operation actually planned.

Each listing names a different amount of surgery. The examination picks one, and the reason for the choice is explained in the consulting room before anything is written.

Rewind records more than ten years for the full lift and more than five for the mini operation, each with variation between individuals. The gap in price mirrors that gap in scope.

Rewind operates on the fourth and fifth floors of the Richro Building in Apgujeong, in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Surgical consultations are booked ahead on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday until 19:00, and on Saturday until 16:00; Thursday and Sunday are closed. The surgeon who examined you is the one in theatre, and the compression dressing that follows the operation is applied before you leave the clinic.

Whose face the full facelift fee fits, and whose it does not

The full-lift figure usually applies when

  • Folds beside the nose, cheeks, jaw line and neck have all descended together
  • Skin elasticity has dropped so far that thread lifting did little
  • Laser and other non-surgical lifting no longer shift the contour
  • You would rather have one larger correction than a series of smaller ones

The figure changes, waits or is declined when

  • Only the middle and lower face have dropped, which points to the mini listing
  • The descent is confined to the cheek beneath the eye, where a midface lift is weighed
  • Volume loss explains more of the change than descent does
  • Clotting problems, blood-thinning medication, smoking that cannot stop, pregnancy or an infection near the planned line are present

The costs of facelift recovery that sit outside the fee

For someone flying in, the recovery period often costs more planning than the operation. Rewind's instructions for facial lifting are short, and each one translates into days you will spend in Seoul or restrictions you will carry home.

About a week in a compression dressing, with swelling and a tight, heavy feeling expected. Budget accommodation near the clinic for at least this week.

Daily life comes back step by step. Pressure on the face and strong stimulation of the operated area are avoided.

Strenuous exercise, sauna and steam rooms are avoided for at least four weeks, so a holiday built around them is better postponed.

Sunscreen and scar care continue at home. The line sits in the hair and along the ear, and it still needs protecting while it matures.

Any surgery carries risk, including bleeding, infection, prolonged swelling, asymmetry, altered sensation, facial nerve injury and a scar that heals poorly. Severe pain or a fever after surgery is a reason to contact the clinic straight away. The date you can fly is confirmed by the surgeon after reviewing the wound.

Facelift cost in Korea: questions from patients abroad

What is the listed price of a facelift in Seoul, Korea?
The full SMAS facelift is listed at ₩9,000,000, with the anaesthetic fee included and VAT added separately. Where the neck is operated on in the same session, the combined listing of ₩14,000,000 applies in its place. The examination decides which of the two you are quoted.
Why can a facelift in Korea cost less than one at home?
Rewind does not publish a comparison with any other country, so this page quotes no foreign figure. Compare inclusions before totals: whether the home quote contains the anaesthetic fee, the facility and the dressing, then add flights, a week or more of accommodation, and follow-up care once you return. A 2010 review of the evidence on treatment abroad weighs those same continuity questions.
Which parts of the operation does the facelift fee cover?
The operation named in the listing, performed by Dr. Jonghwan Choi, with the anaesthetic fee already counted inside the figure. VAT is the only addition shown apart from it. Travel, accommodation during the dressing week and scar-care products used later sit outside the fee.
Do I pay separately if my neck also needs lifting?
No. The neck lift is its own operation, listed alone at ₩5,000,000. When the descent continues below the jaw line and both are planned together, one combined figure replaces the two separate fees. Whether the neck needs work is settled by examination.
Will my facelift quote change after the in-person examination?
Photos let the team tell you which listing looks likely and how far apart the options sit. The written quote comes only after Dr. Choi has examined you in person, because skin elasticity, the depth of the folds and the state of the neck are judged by hand.
Is the mini facelift simply a cheaper facelift?
It is a smaller operation. The mini lift opens only the stretch of the line that is needed and covers the middle and lower face, and Rewind records more than five years for it against more than ten for the full lift. It is offered when the examination finds a limited descent.
Are anaesthesia and theatre time charged separately?
The anaesthetic fee sits inside every listed figure, so it is never billed on its own. The clinic does not publish the anaesthetic method or the operating time for this operation; both are confirmed with you at consultation once the scope is agreed.
How long should my stay in Seoul be planned around?
Plan around at least the week of compression dressing, since that is when swelling and tightness are greatest and the dressing must stay on. The restrictions on exercise, sauna and steam rooms last at least four weeks and continue at home. The flying date is confirmed after the surgeon reviews the wound.
