Is a thread lift surgery?

What does fascia-anchored thread lifting mean?

What is the difference between the PDO, PCL and elastic thread programmes?
Material and lifespan. The PDO programme uses the standard absorbable thread, and the clinic's own figure for it is about three to six months. The elastic thread, a silicone core wrapped in polyester mesh, is described as holding twenty-four months or more, with individual variation.
How long does a thread lift last?
It depends entirely on which material went in, and the range is wide: around three to six months for PDO, six to twelve for PCL, and twenty-four months or more for the elastic thread. Aftercare and individual healing move those figures in both directions.
How many threads will I need?
The count is set when the doctor examines your face, and because standard threads are priced individually, that count decides the total. Ask for the assumed number before you agree to a quote, and ask what happens to the figure if fewer are used on the day.
Can a thread lift replace a facelift?
It cannot. Threads reposition tissue that still moves and hold it while collagen forms around them. An operation repositions and removes tissue and holds for years. Where the drop has passed what a thread can carry, Dr. Choi says so at the consultation and explains what surgery would involve.
Will the threads be visible, or can I feel them?
Occasionally, yes. A thread can be felt near an entry point, and the skin can dimple or pucker along its path, most often in the first days. Much of that settles as swelling goes down. Anything that persists is reviewed by the surgeon who placed it, and a thread can be removed.
What can go wrong after a thread lift?
Bruising, swelling, dimpling of the skin, uneven settling between the two sides, a thread that migrates or works its way toward the surface, and infection at an entry point. These are the named risks of thread placement, and they are discussed before anything is booked.
How soon can I fly home after a thread lift?
No flight rule is published for this treatment, so plan around the swelling: the clinic describes it easing within about a week. Patients travelling a long way usually leave a few days after the session and raise the exact timing at the consultation.
When can I exercise or use a sauna again?
Hard exercise, alcohol, smoking and the sauna are left out for one to two weeks after placement. For about a month, avoid dragging the skin downward when you wash your face, since that works directly against the direction the threads were pulled.
Can threads be combined with an energy treatment?
