Neck lift recovery
The short answer, and where each figure comes from
Rewind Plastic Surgery has not published a recovery timetable for its neck lift, so the dates for your own case come from the operating surgeon. Two neighbouring operations are documented in writing and give the nearest guide. For its full facelift, Rewind records about a week in a compression dressing, a gradual return to daily life, and at least four weeks without strenuous exercise, sauna or steam rooms. For its double-chin muscle-tightening operation, which binds the same platysma, it records a week of compression and a month without forcing the chin down or turning the head hard. Planning a trip around the longer of those windows is a sensible starting point until the surgeon gives you your own dates.
Sources: Rewind's Korean surgical pages for the full facelift and for double-chin muscle tightening, and its written post-operative sheets for facial lifting and for muscle tightening. Every window quoted below carries the name of the operation it was written for. None was measured on neck lift patients, and none is presented as a neck lift figure.
The compression question gets the same treatment. Both documented neighbours keep a compression dressing on for about a week. How long a neck lift dressing stays on, and whether a garment follows it, is decided by the surgeon after seeing how much skin was redraped and how the neck looks at the first review.
Recovery is also more than the dressing. A neck lift involves skin that has been lifted and trimmed, a muscle that has been tightened and, for some patients, a facelift performed in the same session. Each adds its own part to the weeks afterwards, and this page separates them so you can see which part of the plan sets which restriction.
Where the windows come from
Rewind documents recovery for the operations that have their own Korean surgical pages. The neck lift takes nothing from them automatically; these are the four texts a surgeon and a patient can set side by side while a recovery is planned.
The neck lift and its combined listing are described on the main neck lift page. The two documented operations have pages of their own: the facelift and double-chin liposuction with its muscle-tightening step.
Phase by phase
The rungs below follow the order in which a recovery actually runs. Where a window is quoted, the operation it was written for is named beside it. Where nothing is published, the rung says so.
You leave with the neck dressed and written instructions in hand. Rewind issues post-operative instructions with each operation, and for a neck lift the surgeon adds the dates of your first review and of stitch removal. Neither date is published for this listing.
Both documented neighbours, the full facelift and the double-chin muscle operation, keep compression on for about a week. Swelling, bruising and a heavy, tight feeling under the jaw belong to this stage. Rest with the head raised and keep the dressing clean and dry.
Rewind's sheet after muscle tightening asks for at least two weeks without alcohol, smoking, sauna or steam rooms, and for rest that spares the tightened muscle. A neck lift that binds the platysma involves the same muscle, so the surgeon may set a similar window.
The facial lifting sheet sets at least four weeks without strenuous exercise, sauna or steam rooms. When the neck lift is combined with a facelift, this window is set by the face as well as the neck.
The double-chin muscle page asks for a month without forcing the chin down or twisting the head hard, so that the tightened platysma is not stretched while it heals. Screens held at eye level make this easier than it sounds.
Numbness in the neck skin commonly recedes slowly over months. Scars are kept out of the sun while they mature. Rewind records no durability figure for the neck lift listing, and ageing continues over any repair.

Why it varies
Three parts of a neck lift plan change the length of the recovery, and the surgeon weighs each of them before giving you dates.
A neck lift moves and trims skin, which neither chin liposuction nor the muscle operation does to the same degree. The edge of a redraped flap depends on small vessels, so smoking and pressure on the neck matter more here than after suction.
When the neck lift is performed with a facelift, the wider dissection of the face adds early swelling and stiffness, and the four-week limits of the facial lifting sheet apply as well.
Rewind has one surgeon. The person who operated sees you at each review and adjusts the instructions to how the neck is healing, and the written sheet can be gone through with language support. A systematic review of care delivered in a patient's own language is among the papers cited at the foot of this page.
Reviews

Fig. 05 · The lounge where review visits begin
Both the operation and each recovery review take place on floors four and five of the Richro Building, Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul. Reviews are booked like any consultation: Monday to Wednesday and Friday between 10:00 and 19:00, Saturday between 10:00 and 16:00, always by appointment. Thursday and Sunday are closed days, which matters when a stitch removal has to fit around a flight.
Board-certified plastic surgeon
Dr. Jonghwan Choi, certified in Korea as a specialist in plastic surgery and author of ten peer-reviewed papers, operates on and reviews each neck himself. International patients are treated under KHIDI registration M-2025-01-08-09288.
Fees
A longer recovery does not change a listed figure, but the scope of the operation moves both. These lines show how price and recovery travel together.
List prices include the anaesthetic fee, and VAT is charged on top. Accommodation and the nights spent in Seoul between surgery and the last review sit outside the figure, so ask for the review dates when the quote is written.

Warning signs
Most of what a neck feels like in the first weeks is ordinary healing. A few signs are different, and for those the instruction is to contact Rewind the same day and come in, without waiting for the next booked review.
Named risks of a neck lift include bleeding and haematoma, infection, prolonged swelling, asymmetry, thickened or widened scars, numbness of the neck skin, injury to the great auricular nerve that gives feeling to the ear, injury to the branch of the facial nerve that moves the lower lip, and poor healing at a wound edge. Results vary by individual, and an outcome cannot be promised.
At Rewind one board-certified plastic surgeon operates on the neck and holds every review afterwards, so the recovery instructions come from the person who knows exactly what was done.

Scientific evidence
The first paper followed facelift patients over many years to see how they rated their results, a reminder that recovery is judged long after the dressing comes off. The second reviewed safety in outpatient surgery centres through a peer review programme. The third reviewed whether sharing a language with the physician changes the quality and outcomes of care, which bears on following written instructions far from home. None of them measured neck lift recovery at Rewind or predicts your own.
