Does Rejuran i help under-eye dark circles?

The short answer

Sometimes, and only for one kind. Rejuran i, listed at Rewind as Rejuran Eye, is a polynucleotide booster made for the thin skin of the lower lid. It is aimed at skin quality: crepey texture, fine lines and skin that looks tired. It does not remove brown pigment and it does not fill a hollow, so darkness caused by either of those needs a different treatment.

Which kind of darkness you have is decided at examination, and many lower lids show more than one.

Dark circles is a patient word for at least three different findings. Brown discoloration comes from pigment in the skin. A blue or purple cast comes from vessels showing through thin skin. A grey shadow is made by the shape of the lower lid, where a groove or a bulge catches the light. Each answers to a different tool, and the eye booster belongs to only one part of that picture.

Rewind's reference list contains no study that measured dark circles after an eye booster, so this page quotes no figure for it. The one paper in that list that reports a melanin change looked at cheek skin in five women, which is a long way from the lower lid.

Pigment, vessels and shadow: where Rejuran i fits among dark circles

This is the map the doctor works from. Most lower lids show more than one of these findings, and the plan follows whichever is doing most of the darkening.

Colour sitting in the skin itself. A booster is not a pigment treatment, so this finding is assessed for laser work.

Vessels seen through thin, translucent skin. Rejuran i works on lower-lid skin quality, so this is the type it is most often discussed for; the size of any change varies from person to person.

How Rewind decides whether Rejuran i is the right tool for your dark circles

The sorting happens in the consultation room with the lights, a mirror and your own history. Four checks, in the order they are usually made:

01Light

Overhead light compared with daylight

Shadow deepens under a ceiling lamp and softens when light falls from the front. Pigment and vessel colour stay visible in both, which gives the first split between contour and skin.

02Stretch

Gentle stretching of the lower-lid skin

When the skin is lightly stretched, brown pigment tends to stay put, while a bluish tone can shift as the skin thins over the vessels. It is a rough sign, read together with the rest.

03Texture

Crepe and fine lines under the eye

Crepey skin, fine creasing when you smile and a dry surface are the findings Rejuran i is chosen for. Where they are absent, the case for the eye line is weak even if the area looks dark.

04History

Earlier injections and sensitivities

A previous filler under the eye, a recent energy treatment or a known sensitivity to fish-derived material each changes the plan, so all three are asked about before a product is chosen.

Who decides

Why a plastic surgeon screens dark circles ahead of any Rejuran i plan

Under-eye darkness is one of the complaints most often met with the wrong tool, because nearly every option on a menu promises to brighten the area. Rewind's director is a board-certified plastic surgeon who assesses the lower lid as a structure as well as a surface, and that is the starting point for any eye-booster plan.

01Contour

Shape is checked first

If a groove or a bulge is doing the darkening, a booster leaves the shadow where it is, and you are told so at the first visit.

02Pigment

Pigment goes to the laser menu

Brown pigment is assessed for laser treatment at the same clinic, so the eye booster is never sold as a brightening product.

03Skin

Skin quality, on its own terms

When thin, crepey skin is the main finding, Rejuran i is offered with a plain statement of its target, and the same doctor reviews the area after the first session.

After the examination the doctor marks the lower-lid zone and agrees the volume with you; Rewind lists the eye line as a 1cc item. The material is placed as small, shallow deposits in thin skin, and bruising is more likely here than on the cheek. Rewind is on the fourth and fifth floors of the Richro Building, Apgujeong, and sees patients by appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.

Rewind issues a dedicated aftercare sheet for the eye line. It asks more of you than the general booster guidance, because lower-lid skin bruises easily and sits close to everything your hands touch during the day.

Bruising, swelling, redness and small raised points are the common effects under the eye. Infection and vascular occlusion are rare with any injection and are serious; pain that increases, pale or dusky skin, or any change in vision is a reason to contact the clinic at once.

Rejuran i for dark circles: what patients ask

Will Rejuran i lighten my dark circles?
It depends on the cause. Rejuran i targets the quality of thin lower-lid skin, so it is discussed for crepey texture and for a bluish tone showing through thin skin. It does not remove brown pigment or fill a hollow, and no study in Rewind's reference list measured dark circles after it.
How many Rejuran i sessions will my under-eyes need?
Rewind does not publish a fixed number for the eye line. The doctor sets the count and spacing at consultation and looks at the area again after the first session. The one small study in the reference list that used a repeated schedule treated cheeks, so its protocol is not applied to the lower lid.
Is Rejuran i just Rejuran Healer used under the eye?
Rewind lists them as separate items: Rejuran Eye 1cc for the lower lid, and Rejuran Healer in 2cc and 4cc for facial skin. Both are polynucleotide boosters from purified salmon DNA; the eye line is the one chosen for the thin skin below the eye.
What does Rejuran i cost at Rewind?
The list rate for Rejuran Eye 1cc is ₩200,000, VAT excluded and anaesthesia included. If cheek skin is treated in the same plan, Healer is priced separately. An eye-area package that combines several treatments is quoted at consultation.
My circles are brown. Is the eye booster still worth trying?
Brown colour usually means pigment in the skin, and a polynucleotide booster is not a pigment treatment. Rewind assesses pigment for its laser menu, such as pico laser toning. If crepey texture is present too, the eye line may still be discussed for that part of the problem.
My dark circles look worse under ceiling lights. What does that mean?
Darkness that deepens under overhead light and softens with light from the front usually points to shadow from the shape of the lower lid. A booster does not change shape, so tear trough filler or a structural assessment is the usual next conversation, decided after examination.
How much bruising should I expect under the eyes?
It varies. Rewind's eye aftercare sheet notes that bruising and swelling may occur depending on the individual, and that a slightly bumpy feel improves within two to three days. Book the session early in a trip so that any bruise has time to settle before photographs or a flight.
What are the risks of injecting so close to the eye?
Common effects are bruising, swelling and redness, and an ingredient allergy can cause red inflammation. Infection and vascular occlusion are rare but serious with any injection. Rewind asks you to report increasing pain, pale or dusky skin or any change in vision straight away.

These papers study polynucleotide and PDRN preparations in facial skin and in pharmacology. None examined the lower eyelid or measured dark circles, none was carried out at Rewind, and none predicts an individual result.
