Does Juvelook improve acne scars and enlarged pores?

The short answer

It can help with part of the problem. Rewind's own product record lists pores and acne scarring among the reasons patients choose Juvelook, and the mechanism suits shallow damage: polylactic-acid particles left in the dermis prompt the skin to build substance over the following weeks. That can soften broad, shallow depressions and make pores look less open as the skin firms. An injection on its own cannot release a scar tethered to deeper tissue or reshape a narrow, deep pit.

That split decides the plan. For many faces with old acne scarring, Juvelook is one part of a sequence that also includes a device working at a set depth. Rewind holds two devices whose records name pores or acne scars. Sylfirm X is a radiofrequency microneedling platform with needle depth adjustable from 0.3 mm to 4.0 mm, and its record lists pores among its aims. The Pico K laser records acne scarring and pores among its aims as well. Which of the three leads, and in what order, depends on the scar types found at the examination.

On sessions, the clinic publishes no fixed number of Juvelook treatments for acne scarring and no interval between them. The count is set once the doctor has seen your scars, and it is revisited after the first round has had time to work. Acne rarely leaves one kind of damage. The four problems below are the ones patients point to most when they ask about Juvelook, and the product plays a different part in each.

How Juvelook works on scarred skin, and where a device takes over

An acne scar is a problem of structure below the surface. These four points explain what the injectable contributes and what it leaves to other tools.

01Substance

Polylactic acid builds from underneath

The particles remain in the dermis after the hyaluronic acid carrier has dispersed, and a tissue response develops around them. For a shallow scar sitting in thin skin, extra substance beneath it can make the dip look less deep.

02Tethering

Some scars are held down

Scars that stay pinned when the skin is gently stretched are anchored by fibrous bands. An injection around them adds volume without cutting that anchor, so the scar can remain visible. The doctor checks for this first.

03Depth

Sylfirm X is set scar by scar

Radiofrequency microneedling delivers heat through needles at a chosen depth, between 0.3 mm and 4.0 mm on this platform. It is the device considered when the scar itself needs remodelling at a particular level.

04Sequence

Order matters more than the menu

When an injectable and a device are both planned, the doctor decides which comes first and how far apart the appointments sit. The sequence is written down before the first visit, so each appointment has a defined purpose and the review has something specific to measure.

Scar treatment attracts one-product promises. Three working habits keep the plan tied to what is actually on your face.

01Diagnosis

Scar type comes before product choice

The cheeks, temples and jaw line are examined separately, because one face often carries two or three scar types at once. A product is named only after each zone has been read.

02Shelf

Three tools, one of them injectable

Juvelook, Sylfirm X and the Pico K laser are all in the same clinic. When a scar pattern suits a device better, the device is used, and Juvelook vials are kept for the thin, porous zones where they fit.

The visit opens with the examination. Bring a list of anything used for acne in recent months, including tablets, peels and prescription creams, and mention any injection already placed in your cheeks. The doctor maps the scars, confirms whether breakouts are still active and explains which zones will receive Juvelook, which may need a device and which should be left alone. Anaesthetic cream is applied before the injections, and there are no stitches afterwards.

Some bruising, swelling and redness are expected at first. The complication watched most closely after polylactic-acid products is a nodule, a small firm lump in the treated layer. Infection and compromised blood flow to the skin are uncommon and serious. Report spreading redness, increasing pain, skin that turns pale, or fever to the clinic without delay.

Juvelook, acne scars and pores: patient questions

Does Juvelook improve acne scars and enlarged pores?
It can soften broad, shallow scars and make pores look smaller as the skin gains substance, and Rewind lists both among the reasons patients choose it. Narrow, deep pits and scars tethered to deeper tissue change little with an injection, so those are planned with a device or left out.
How many Juvelook sessions for acne scarring?
Rewind publishes no fixed count or interval. The doctor sets the number after examining the scars and reviews the skin before recommending another round. Each vial is priced separately, with Juvelook Skin at ₩700,000, so the course cost follows that decision.
Should I choose Juvelook Skin or Juvelook Volume for scars?
The Skin line is aimed at texture, fine lines and pores and is the one usually discussed for porous, lightly scarred skin. The Volume line is placed deeper and is considered where a scarred area has also thinned. The doctor may use each in a different zone of the same face.

Why does the doctor stretch my skin when checking the scars?
Stretching shows whether a scar is tethered. Scars that flatten under gentle tension are shallow and more likely to respond to added substance. Scars that stay pinned are held by fibrous bands, and an injection alone rarely changes them much.
Does the Pico K laser do something different for scars?
Its equipment record lists pigmentation, acne scarring and pores among its aims, and it is the tool considered for flat red or brown marks, which an injection does not address. A fractional Pico session is listed at ₩300,000 before VAT.
What aftercare matters most on acne-prone skin?
After Juvelook Skin, leave the needle marks alone, keep makeup off for at least two to three hours, and avoid alcohol, smoking, sauna and hard exercise for a week. After the Volume line, rub the area gently in small circles. Sunscreen applies to both.

Scientific evidence

Polylactic-acid papers relevant to scarring and skin quality

The acne scar paper is a single case report using poly-L-lactic acid, which is a small evidence base and is listed for exactly that reason. The other three describe how injectable polylactic-acid preparations are composed, their physical characteristics and how tissue responds to them. No study here was carried out at Rewind Plastic Surgery or on its patients, and none sets a session count for your scars.
