Treat any review, glowing or furious, as one person's skin, one set of moles and one aftercare routine. A dent on one reviewer's nose says little about a flat mole on your cheek, and an enthusiastic post says little about a deep mole on your back.

What happens to a mole that should not be lasered

A lesion that has changed, bleeds, itches or has an irregular edge needs medical assessment first, because a laser destroys the tissue a diagnosis would depend on. A good answer says so plainly. At Rewind such a lesion is set aside and referred for proper assessment.

How the price is stated, and what is added at the desk

If you plan to review your treatment, the visit itself supplies the material. Note how many moles you asked about and how many were treated, which ones the doctor advised leaving and why, what the final price came to with VAT, and what you were told about tape, ointment and sun. The clinic is in the Richro Building in Gangnam, Seoul, on the fourth and fifth floors, and sees patients by appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.

Aftercare

Mole removal aftercare, and why early reviews misjudge it

Much of what a reviewer later blames on the laser is decided at home. Rewind's instructions after laser treatment are short: redness right afterwards is possible, sauna, jjimjilbang and sweaty exercise are avoided, massage and strong friction are kept off the area, and sunscreen goes on outdoors.

Scientific evidence

Published evidence on the laser these reviews describe

Reviews describe one patient at a time, while published studies describe groups. Two of the papers listed assess carbon dioxide laser removal of benign skin lesions, including a comparison with cryotherapy, electrodesiccation and the erbium laser. The third is a randomised split-scar trial of early fractional laser on skin-cancer excision scars, cited here only in connection with scar care. None included patients treated at Rewind Plastic Surgery.
