Figures on this page come from Rewind's own rate list for eyelid surgery. The clinic publishes no anaesthetic type, theatre time or technique description for this item, so none of those is stated or priced separately here.

Why does a ptosis plan cost more than a plain double eyelid? Because it contains more work. A crease operation sets where the lid folds. The correction adds a second task, aimed at how far the lid rises when the eye opens, and the rate list charges for that task as its own line. When the examination finds that the lid rises normally, the line is left off and the quotation stays at the crease rate.

For anyone comparing figures from abroad, a single headline number for ptosis surgery in Korea tells you little. What decides your total is which crease method sits under the add-on, whether an earlier operation has to be dealt with first, and whether other eye work is planned for the same day. The add-on is charged only when the lid edge is found resting low across the iris. Rewind's eyelid pages name eyes that uncover less than about 80 per cent of the iris, and people whose foreheads tighten to help the eyes open. Without that finding the line stays off.

The correction rides on a buried, partial-incision or full-incision crease, and each has its own rate. Lid thickness and the fat above the eye choose the method, so the base of the sum is set by anatomy and by little else.

No ptosis figure is fixed from photographs sent over a message thread. The sequence below is how the quotation is put together once you are in the chair, and each step can change the total.

01Observe

Each eye's opening is read with the forehead at rest

The surgeon watches both eyes in a straight-ahead gaze, then asks you to let the brow relax. A lid that only looks adequate while the forehead is working is the lid the correction line is written for. Each side is noted separately.

02Choose

The crease method is matched to the lid first

Rewind lists lids carrying more fat or thicker skin for its partial-incision method, which works through a small opening of about 5 to 7 mm, or for full incision. The buried method makes the fold without an incision. This choice sets the larger of the two figures.

03Add

The correction line is written in, or left off

If the lid margin sits low, the add-on appears as its own line. If it does not, the quotation stops at the crease. Either way you are shown which finding decided it.

Previous surgery is examined before revision work is priced

An earlier operation changes the arithmetic. Scar tissue, a fold set too high or a lift that was never addressed are assessed first, and revision rates apply only after that assessment.

A package price for eyelid surgery is easy to advertise and hard to check. Listing the correction separately puts the costliest judgement on the plan, whether the lift is weak, in front of the person paying for it.

Surgery is carried out in the clinic's own theatre, one of the rooms on Rewind's two floors of the Richro Building in Apgujeong. What ptosis correction costs in time and follow-up once the fee is paid

The listed rate buys the operation. Recovery is paid for in days, and those days follow the aftercare sheet of the crease method that carries the correction, since Rewind publishes no separate sheet for the correction itself.

Days one and two
Swelling at its most visible
For a buried crease on its own, the Rewind sheet puts the visible swelling and bruising at around 48 hours. A lid that has also had its opening corrected has had more done to it, so plan for the slower end.
The first week
Heat and sweat are postponed
The buried-lid sheet keeps you out of saunas and steam rooms, and away from hard exercise, for roughly seven days. A mild cleanser replaces scrubbing, and the eye is not rubbed.
Weeks one to two
Incisional bruising eases
After an incisional upper lid, Rewind expects bruising and swelling to fade over one to two weeks, though people differ. The day your sutures come out is decided at follow-up.
Around two months
An incisional line quietens
Rewind notes that by about two months the redness of an incisional crease has settled enough for light makeup to cover it outdoors. A buried crease leaves no incision line to wait for.

Eyelid surgery carries risks that no fee removes: swelling and bruising, bleeding, infection, over- or under-correction of the opening, uneven lid heights, dryness or irritation of the eye surface, altered sensation and scarring along any incision. Why is a ptosis plan more expensive than a plain double eyelid operation?
